Prom Clothing and Accessories Drive
Hometown HOPE Thrift Store was asked to offer Prom Dresses and accessories as a more reasonable option than the more expensive competitive retail stores in Fargo - Moorhead. One parent compared the price of Prom to the price of her mortgage. We started collecting a few dresses and the donations grew as people in our region realized that we were filling a specific clothing request. We received about 75 dresses, shoes, jewelry, and suitcoats, and held several Prom pop-ups in the store. We decided to travel to the area schools when we were told that the teenagers were having trouble getting to our rural location to shop and take advantage of the low cost options. We delivered dresses to 6 schools, offering students multiple dress styles, they then later picked up the dresses. The schools were Central Cass, Northern Cass, Hillsboro, Climax, Ada - Borup West and Twin Valley. We also were able to donate several dresses to CCRI for their Prom in August 2026. Hometown HOPE plans to host a Prom Expo in Halstad, MN in January 2027 that will showcase Hometown HOPE dresses and booths with services for hairstyles, tanning, manicures and more. Hometown HOPE is committed to meeting the needs of the surrounding communities.
