Fridge/Freezer
Bonnie Nepstad provided a financial donation to allow Hometown HOPE to purchase a commercial double door refrigerator for the pantry in May. Hometown HOPE received a financial donation from a Bingo Fundraiser to purchase a freezer for the food pantry. A grant from Essentia provided funds to purchase a commercial refrigerator for the pantry in June. The equipment allowed Hometown HOPE to purchase additional locally grown food and receive additional donations that help our clients choose healthier options.
Doubting Thomas Donations of Flowers
Thanks to the Minnesota Horticultural Society’s Garden-in-a-Box program, people of all ages have had the opportunity to learn how to grow fresh, healthy food. Our community garden is providing fresh produce for our food pantry while also offering free herbs for everyone to enjoy in their own cooking. It's amazing to see neighbors sharing knowledge, harvesting together, and building friendships. A special thanks to Ada Girl Scout Troop 20602, whose volunteers worked alongside community members of every generation—from young children to older adults—to help make this project a success. Together, we're not only growing food—we're brightening our town, bringing smiles to faces, and proving that gardens have the power to bring communities together.
